Languages education - policy and implications

Another area that my work focusses on involves languages education, in particular the policies and implications which structural changes at the university level have for opening up access for students in Australia and elsewhere. Much of this work has been done in collaboration with Dr Marinella Caruso and has been presented at conferences of the Languages and Cultures Network for Australian Universities. This research is ongoing and has so far looked at levels of languages enrolment in Australia, patterns of language study for non-Arts students as well as the effects of casualisation on language teachers.
